Referral Terms & Affiliate Program

Last Modified: Feb 09, 2026
Effective: Feb 09, 2026

These Referral & Affiliate Program Terms ("Program Terms") supplement and are incorporated into the Ditch Terms of Service and Privacy Notice. By participating in any program described below, you agree to these Program Terms.

PART 1: GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1 Program Overview

Ditch operates two reward programs:

  • Traditional Peer Referral Program: Invite friends to join Ditch and earn rewards when they complete qualifying actions
  • TikTok Affiliate Program: Create promotional content on TikTok and earn performance-based payments

You may participate in one or both programs, subject to the specific eligibility requirements and limits for each program.

1.2 General Eligibility

All programs require:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a Ditch account in good standing
  • "Good standing" means your account is active and you have not been banned from the platform or found to be in violation of Ditch's Terms of Service
  • Programs are void where prohibited by law
  • Ditch may change, pause, or end any program at any time

1.3 Program Details & Flexibility

Operational details (current amounts, caps, timelines, geographies, and other program specifics) may be shown in dedicated in-app program pages and are incorporated by reference here. If program details change, the in-app page reflects the current program terms and controls if there's any conflict with this document.

Reward amounts, caps, and promotional boosts may change at any time at Ditch's discretion. Changes are prospective and do not apply to rewards earned under previous terms.

PART 2: TRADITIONAL PEER REFERRAL PROGRAM

2.1 How It Works

The Traditional Peer Referral Program lets eligible users ("Referrers") invite friends ("Referred Friends") to join Ditch. Both parties receive a reward when a Qualified Referral occurs.

2.2 Qualified Referral Requirements

A Qualified Referral occurs when ALL of the following are met:

(i) The Referred Friend is new to Ditch (no prior account), creates an account in their own name, and signs up using the Referrer's unique referral code at signup;

(ii) Within 30 days of creating their account, the Referred Friend completes at least one Automated Payoff; and

(iii) Both accounts remain in good standing and compliant with these Program Terms.

2.3 Not Eligible

Self-referrals, duplicate or fictitious accounts, referrals by or to the same person/household, incentivized or paid traffic (ads, coupon/deal sites, marketplaces) unless expressly allowed by Ditch, bulk/unsolicited messaging, or suspected fraud/abuse are not eligible.

2.4 Rewards

For each Qualified Referral, both the Referrer and the Referred Friend receive the Referral Bonus Amount displayed on the in-app Referral page (currently $10).

Payment Method: Ditch will make a separate payment (a "Referral Bonus Payment") to each party's chosen Debt Focus account; it will not be combined with any other Automated Payoff.

Amount in Effect: The Referral Bonus Amount is determined by what appears on the in-app Referral page at the time the Referred Friend signs up with a Referrer's code.

Timing: Referral Bonus Payments typically post within 14 days after the Qualifying Automated Payoff is confirmed.

Payment Issues: If a payment cannot be completed (e.g., returned/closed account), we may retry or, at our option, apply the bonus to another eligible Debt account you select.

Non-Transferable: Rewards are personal, non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash, gift cards, or credits. We may substitute a reward of equal value.

Withholding/Cancellation: We may withhold, cancel, or reverse rewards for returns/chargebacks, failed or reversed Payoffs, account closures, or policy violations. We may request identity, eligibility, or fraud-prevention documentation within a specified timeframe before paying; failure to provide may result in withholding or cancellation.

Set-Off: To the extent permitted by law, we may set off any amounts you owe us against Referral Bonus Payments.

2.5 Limits & Caps

Per Person: The Traditional Peer Referral Program is capped at $100 total or 10 Qualified Referrals per calendar year (whichever occurs first).

Cap Flexibility: Ditch may modify caps prospectively or, at our discretion, raise individual caps based on program performance or promotional campaigns.

2.6 Sharing Rules

Keep it honest and non-spammy: Only share with people you know and who would reasonably expect to hear from you.

Required Disclosures: If your post or message could be seen as an endorsement, you must clearly disclose you may receive a reward (e.g., "I may get $10 from Ditch if you join with my code").

Prohibited Activities: Do not buy ads using Ditch trademarks, post referral codes on coupon/deal sites, impersonate others, or scrape/sell codes.

Personal Use Only: The program is for individual, personal use only. No commercial use, paid search ads, affiliate/coupon networks, or public code repositories.

High-Volume Referrers: We may, at our discretion, move high-volume or commercial referrers to a separate partner/affiliate program or end participation.

2.7 Messaging & Privacy

Current State: Ditch does not collect invitee contact information until someone creates an account.

Future Invite Tools: If we add invite tools later, you may be able to send invites via Ditch by entering contacts or letting us send on your behalf. If so:

  • We will use invitee contact details only to send the invite you request
  • Include required opt-outs (e.g., "STOP" for SMS)
  • Retain data only as needed to deliver the invite and track the referral
  • You agree to invite only people who would reasonably expect a message from you and to honor any unsubscribe/STOP requests
  • If you provide an invitee's contact details to Ditch, you represent you have that person's express consent to share their details with Ditch for a one-time invite and referral tracking

See our Privacy Notice for more.

PART 3: TIKTOK AFFILIATE PROGRAM

3.1 Program Overview

The TikTok Affiliate Program ("TikTok Program") allows eligible Ditch customers to create promotional content on TikTok and earn performance-based payments based on video view counts.

3.2 Eligibility

To participate in the TikTok Program, you must:

  • Be an existing Ditch customer with an account in good standing
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be located in the United States
  • Have a valid destination account linked to your Ditch account
  • Have a TikTok account

Content paid for by other campaigns or programs is not eligible to accrue earnings through the TikTok Affiliate program.

3.3 How It Works

Step 1: Create Content

  • Create a video on TikTok that promotes Ditch
  • Include the hashtag #DitchPartner in your video description

Step 2: Submit for Review

  • Visit the TikTok Affiliate Program page in the Ditch app
  • Paste the link to your TikTok video
  • Submit for review

Step 3: Automated Review

  • Ditch automatically pulls your video transcript and verifies the #DitchPartner hashtag is present
  • Our system evaluates the transcript and content for brand fit and compliance with Content Guidelines (Section 3.5)
  • You will receive immediate feedback if your video is:
    • Approved: Video is eligible for payment based on views
    • Rejected: Video does not meet requirements (with reason provided)
    • Pending Manual Review: Video requires additional human review

Step 4: View Tracking & Payment

  • Approved videos: View counts are automatically pulled via TikTok API
  • View counts refresh every 7 days for 30 days from date of approval
  • Payment is made 30 days after video approval based on total views accumulated during the 30-day window

3.4 Payment Structure

Tiered Payment:Payments are calculated based on view count tiers:

  • 0 to 999 views: $0
  • 1,000 to 4,999 views: $5.00 per 1,000 views
  • 5,000 to 24,999 views: $2.50 per 1,000 views
  • 25,000 to 99,999 views: $1.00 per 1,000 views
  • 100,000+ views: $0.50 per 1,000 views

Example Calculation:A video with 30,000 views would earn:

  • First 5,000 views: $25.00
  • Next 20,000 views (5K-25K): $50.00
  • Next 5,000 views (25K-30K): $5.00
  • Total: $80.00

Per-Video Cap: Maximum payment per video is $250

Annual Program Cap: Maximum total earnings from the TikTok Program per calendar year is $600

Payment Method: Payments are made via ACH to your linked destination account (debt focus) as a separate transaction.

Payment Timing: Payment is made 30 days after video approval, based on total views accumulated during the 30-day tracking window.

Multiple Videos: You may submit multiple videos. Each approved video is tracked and paid separately, though Ditch reserves the right to bundle payments for administrative efficiency.

Payment Requirements: You must have a valid linked checking account at the time of payment. If your checking account is closed, invalid, or payment fails, you will not receive payment for that video. We may retry or request updated payment information at our discretion.

Minimum Payout: The minimum payout is $5 (requires at least 1,000 views).

3.5 Content Guidelines & Brand Safety

Required Elements:

  • Video must include the hashtag #DitchPartner in the video description
  • Video must promote Ditch in a positive and accurate manner
  • Video content must comply with TikTok's Community Guidelines

Prohibited Content:Your video will be rejected if it contains:

  • Misinformation about Ditch's products, services, pricing, or features
  • False, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims
  • Inappropriate, offensive, vulgar, or disparaging language or imagery

  • Automatic Approval: Videos that meet all requirements and score above our quality threshold are automatically approved
  • Automatic Rejection: Videos missing #DitchPartner, containing prohibited content, or scoring below threshold are automatically rejected with reason provided
  • Manual Review: Videos scoring in the middle range are sent for human review; you will be notified of pending status

Retroactive Rejection: Ditch reserves the right to retroactively reject and withhold payment for any video if we discover it violates these Content Guidelines after initial approval, even if views have already accumulated.

Resubmission: If your video is rejected, you may resubmit. However, you must delete the original video and post a new version that complies with the guidelines. The new video will be treated as a new submission with a new 30-day tracking window.

3.6 Legal Disclosures & FTC Compliance

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE: The TikTok Affiliate Program involves paid sponsorship. Under Federal Trade Commission (FTC) law, you are legally required to clearly and conspicuously disclose your material connection with Ditch when creating promotional content.

Your Obligations:

  • You are independently responsible for complying with all applicable advertising and endorsement laws, including the FTC's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255)
  • The #DitchPartner hashtag is Ditch's program requirement for tracking purposes
  • You must ensure your disclosures meet all legal requirements, which may include additional disclosures beyond #DitchPartner
  • FTC guidance can be found at: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers

Ditch's Recommendation:While we require #DitchPartner, we strongly recommend you also include #ad or #sponsored in your video description, or use TikTok's built-in "Paid Partnership" label, to ensure full FTC compliance. Many creators find that clear disclosure builds trust with their audience.

Disclosure Placement:Disclosures should be clear, conspicuous, and not buried in hashtag strings. Consider placing disclosure hashtags near the beginning of your description and/or verbally mentioning your partnership with Ditch in your video.

Your Responsibility:By participating in the TikTok Program, you acknowledge that:

  • You understand this is a paid sponsorship arrangement
  • You are responsible for making legally adequate disclosures
  • You will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Ditch is not providing legal advice regarding your disclosure obligations

Indemnification:You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ditch from any claims, damages, or liability arising from your failure to make adequate disclosures or comply with applicable advertising laws.

3.7 Content Rights & Usage

Ownership: You retain ownership of all content you create and post on TikTok.

Ditch's Rights:By submitting a video to the TikTok Program, you grant Ditch a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

  • Reshare and repost your video on Ditch's own social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Embed or link to your video on Ditch's website or blog
  • Use your video for internal purposes (e.g., program analytics, content review)

Paid Advertising Use:Ditch may NOT use your video in paid advertising, sponsored content, or other commercial marketing without obtaining a separate written license agreement from you. If we wish to use your content in paid marketing, we will contact you to discuss terms.

Content Duration:There is no requirement for your video to remain live on TikTok after the 30-day tracking window. However, if you delete your video during the 30-day tracking window, view tracking will stop and payment will be based on views accumulated up to the deletion date.

No Clawback:If you delete your video after payment has been made, Ditch will not claw back or reverse the payment.

3.8 TikTok Account Requirements

Account Validity:Your TikTok account must remain active and in good standing throughout the 30-day tracking period.

Deleted/Banned TikTok Accounts:If your TikTok account is deleted, suspended, or banned during the 30-day tracking period, you will not receive payment for any pending videos. View tracking will stop and payment will be forfeited.

No TikTok Requirements:There are no minimum follower count, account age, verification status, or other TikTok-specific requirements to participate.

3.9 Fraud Prevention & Prohibited Activities

Prohibited View Manipulation:You may NOT engage in any activity designed to artificially inflate view counts, including but not limited to:

  • Purchasing views from third-party services
  • Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to generate views
  • Participating in view exchange schemes or "view farms"
  • Encouraging coordinated inauthentic view generation
  • Any other fraudulent or deceptive practices

Investigation Rights:Ditch reserves the right to:

  • Investigate suspicious view patterns or activity
  • Request documentation, screenshots, or other proof of legitimate views
  • Use third-party fraud detection tools and services
  • Withhold payment pending investigation

Consequences of Fraud:If Ditch detects or suspects fraud, view manipulation, or other violations:

  • We will immediately terminate your participation in the TikTok Program
  • We will withhold all pending payments
  • We may permanently ban you from all Ditch programs
  • We may pursue legal action and seek recovery of any payments made

General Terms Violations:Violation of Ditch's general Terms of Service also disqualifies you from the TikTok Program and may result in forfeiture of pending payments.

3.10 No Video Limit

There is no limit on the number of videos you may submit, subject only to the annual program cap of $600. Once you reach $600 in total earnings for the calendar year, no additional videos will be eligible for payment until the following calendar year, unless an exception is granted by Ditch..

3.11 View Count Disputes

Ditch's determination of view counts based on TikTok API data is final and binding. If you believe view counts are being tracked incorrectly, contact Ditch support through the in-app messaging system or at help@ditch.io.

PART 4: COMBINED PROGRAM PROVISIONS

4.1 Tax Reporting

Traditional Peer Referral Program Cap: $100 per calendar year (or higher if individually adjusted)

TikTok Affiliate Program Cap: $600 per calendar year

Combined Participation: If you participate in both programs, your combined earnings may reach up to $1,200 per calendar year under current caps.

2026 Tax Threshold: For calendar year 2026, the IRS threshold for issuing Form 1099 is $2,000. Ditch has set program caps to keep individual participants below this threshold under normal circumstances.

Tax Onboarding: If your combined rewards across all programs approach or exceed IRS reporting thresholds, Ditch may require you to complete tax onboarding (e.g., providing a completed Form W-9). Failure to complete required tax documentation may result in withholding of payments or account suspension.

Tax Responsibility: You are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on rewards received. Rewards may be considered taxable income. Consult a tax professional if you have questions.

4.2 Ownership; No Agency

Referral links, codes, and program access are Ditch's property and are licensed to you for personal, lawful use only.

4.3 Program Changes, Suspension, Termination

Ditch may change, pause, or end any program at any time, with or without notice.

If we make changes:

  • We will generally honor rewards already earned but not yet posted
  • We may cancel pending rewards if we suspect abuse, fraud, or policy violations
  • Changes are prospective and do not affect rewards earned under previous terms

Suspension/Termination:Ditch may suspend or terminate your participation in any or all programs if:

  • Your Ditch account is no longer in good standing
  • You violate these Program Terms
  • You violate Ditch's Terms of Service
  • We detect or suspect fraud or abuse
  • We determine you are engaged in commercial or high-volume activity better suited to a separate partnership arrangement

Program Interpretation:All decisions regarding program interpretation, eligibility, reward calculation, and policy enforcement are in Ditch's sole discretion and are final and binding.

4.4 Disputes & Governing Law

These Program Terms are governed by—and disputes are resolved under—the Dispute Resolution and Governing Law sections of the Ditch Terms of Service.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Program Terms or your participation in any Ditch program will be subject to the arbitration provisions in the Ditch Terms of Service.

4.5 Miscellaneous
